A full-route night paddle through downtown Chicago ending with front-row views of the Independence Day fireworks from the water.

The Fireworks Kayak Tour was created for participants looking for something bigger than a typical paddle experience.
Starting from Ping Tom Park, this guided journey follows the South Branch of the Chicago River toward downtown Chicago during the transition from sunset into night, creating a continuous and immersive experience through the heart of the city.
As the skyline lights begin to reflect across the water, participants paddle more than five miles through Chicago before arriving near Navy Pier for the highlight of the evening front-row fireworks views directly from their kayaks.
Unlike shorter or stationary events, this is a full-route guided paddle experience designed around movement, atmosphere, and one of the most iconic nights of the Chicago summer.
The experience is intense, memorable, and intentionally designed for participants looking for a more active and rewarding night on the water.

What to expect
The experience begins at Ping Tom Park, where participants are welcomed by the team and guided through preparation before launching onto the river.
Each participant receives:
A kayak and paddle
A life vest
Safety briefing before departure
Guided support throughout the entire route
Before launching, participants receive an overview focused on safety, pacing, and preparation for the longer paddle experience ahead.
Once on the water, the group paddles continuously through the South Branch toward downtown Chicago while the atmosphere of the city gradually transitions into night.
The route moves through illuminated bridges, skyline reflections, and the energy of the river before arriving near Navy Pier for direct fireworks viewing from the water.
After the fireworks conclude, participants complete the guided return paddle back toward Ping Tom Park under the city lights.
Guides remain on the water with the group throughout the entire experience to provide support, direction, and safety.
