Chicago Outdoor Collective is a Chicago-based, women-owned outdoor recreation business built around community, connection, and a love for the outdoors.
At the heart of The Collective is a simple belief: outdoor spaces are meant to be experienced, shared, and enjoyed by the communities around them. From our home at Ping Tom Memorial Park, we want the Chinatown community, Chicago residents, and visitors from around the world to have a safe and welcoming way to experience this special part of the city from a completely different perspective — the water.
Kayaking is how we make that connection possible. Through rentals, guided experiences, instruction, and group programming, we help people feel safe, supported, and confident as they explore the Chicago River, discover their surroundings, and create meaningful memories together. This reflects the Collective’s commitment not only to recreation, but to building skills and confidence through structured instruction and guidance.
The goal was never to create another kayak rental business. It was to create a place where people could come together, try something new, connect with their city and with one another, and feel that they belong.
